As part of an ongoing commitment to education, Community Memorial Hospital offers the Nurse Residency Program to new graduate nurses. Monthly learning sessions provide each new graduate with a highly interactive and enriching learning process. These sessions offer the opportunity to critically reflect on nursing practice through a variety of learning experiences.
New nurses participate in clinical narratives, case study analysis and dialogue with advanced practice nurses and health care experts. These experiences help guide the new nurse in the application of knowledge that advances clinical judgement skills and problem solving ability. The learning sessions will address topics that are crucial for new graduates to master including delegation, time management and communication. The sessions also promote medical/surgical knowledge integration.
