Polycystic Kidney Support Group
This support group provides a forum for patients, family and friends to come together to learn more about polycystic kidney disease and share personal stories and discuss transplant process and current drugs and research for a cure.

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD), the most common inherited life-threatening disease, affects more than 600,000 Americans and an estimated 12.5 million people worldwide — regardless of gender, age, race or ethnic origin. PKD appears in two forms — autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), which is the most common and affects one in 400 to 500 adults, and autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD), which is more rare and affects one in 10,000 people at a younger age, including infants and children.
Meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Community Conference Center, 8700 Watertown Plank Rd.

Parkinson's Disease Caregiver Support Group
This support group is solely for spouses of people with Parkinson’s disease and/or caregiving children, friends and others.

Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological disorder that affects the brain. The disease is characterized by a shortage of the brain chemical dopamine, which controls people's movement. The four primary symptoms of Parkinson's are tremor; rigidity or stiffness of the muscles; slowness of movement (bradykinesia); and impaired balance. These symptoms can range from very mild to severe, and can cause difficulty in walking, talking or performing everyday tasks. Meets the second Saturday of every month at Small Stones in Brookfield. No registration required.

Families of the Mentally Ill (NAMI) Support Group
This support group is for famlies, spouses, relatives and friends of people determined to have mental illness/depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia and other mental disorders.

A psychiatric or psychological condition regardless of cause such as schizophrenia, depression, manic depressive or bipolar illness, anxiety, personality disorders and/or adjustment disorders or other conditions. These conditions are usually treated by a mental health provider or other qualified provider using psychotherapy, psychotropic drugs, or other similar methods of treatment.
Meets the second and fourth Monday of the month at Froedtert Hospital in Conference Room F.

Comprehensive babysitting skills for students at least 11 years of age.

Comprehensive babysitting skills for students age 11 or over. The program will include: child growth & development,creative play, home safety, injury prevention, police & fire safety, sitter responsibilities, infant care, first aid, Heimlich Maneuver,Super-Sitter's video, post test, program evaluations,and certificates.Be sure to bring a baby-sized doll to class. This support group is open to people who have chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and other related disorders.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/fibromyalgia often overlap with symptoms such as diffuse or specific muscle, joint, or bone pain, fatigue, "brain fog" and a wide range of other symptoms. Meets the third Monday of the month at Small Stones in Brookfield. Family and friends are welcome to attend. No registration required.
