The Center for Prostate Health is dedicated to providing men with education, screening, intervention and expert treatment of prostate cancer. The Center is staffed by a leading radiation oncologist who specializes in prostate health, urologists and the most advanced cancer therapy technology. The radiation technology available to our patients includes the B-mode Acquisition and Targeting system and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). These technologies allow us to target and then deliver the most effective treatment of prostate cancer.
Men facing a diagnosis of prostate cancer may worry about caring for their families, keeping their jobs, or continuing daily activities. Concerns about treatments and managing side effects, relationships and emotions are also common. The Center for Prostate Health team works together to address issues such as patient education, assistance in treatment decision-making, coordination of multidisciplinary care, and emotional support.
The Prostate Cancer Support Group meets once each month in a relaxed setting for learning, obtaining the latest information on treatment from health professionals and gaining support from group members who have also been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men. The good news is that if prostate cancer is detected early — when it's still confined to the prostate gland – there is an excellent chance of successful treatment with minimal or short-term side effects.
