Parish Nursing Services

Parish Nursing Services promotes and supports the holistic practice of parish nurses in the Greater Menomonee Falls Area and surrounding communities.

The parish nurse movement that began in 1984 is "breaking through an old wall separating two healing communities--health care and the church." It creates a closer bond with health care and the churches. This shift supports the practice of whole person health. This approach integrates the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual dimensions.

Community Memorial Hospital promotes a holistic relationship-centered care that incorporates the body, mind and spirit. Parish nurses provide a tangible connection for bringing together these aspects of care.

We are committed to parish nursing in the community and within the hospital setting. Parish nurses are welcomed to be part of our interdisciplinary health care team. Our hope is that you will join with your parish nurse in making evident the peace and harmony which flows from healing and wholeness.

We are pleased to participate in this healing ministry. Parish Nursing Services Partnership of Community Memorial Hospital was established November 5, 1997. Its goal is to foster the professional practice of whole-person-health by parish nurses in congregations in the Greater Menomonee Falls area.

Currently, we network with 15 nurses working part-time in nearby churches. The parish nurses meet regularly for mutual support, spiritual development and continuing education. These endeavors extend the walls of the hospital and increase its circle of care.
