The Risk of a Heart AttackThe danger of undiagnosed coronary disease is that it could lead to a heart attack. Heart attacks occur when the demand for blood (oxygen), by the heart exceeds the supply. This usually happens as a result of severe narrowing, or complete blockage of a diseased coronary artery. When the demand exceeds the supply, a myocardial infarction, or heart attack occurs.
