Job Specific Pre-Placement Services

Based on the employer’s description of job demands or following a job analysis, a job-specific pre-placement screening protocol is developed to test individuals hired for physical ability to perform essential job functions. Recommendations for reasonable accommodations can be included. Services can be coordinated with the employer’s occupational medicine provider.

Physical therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants and Certified Athletic Trainers provide testing of physical abilities. Based on protocols developed, the following activities are performed: review of medical/injury history identified by the employee; musculoskeletal screen, and functional activities assessment. Activities tested are based on job demands. Cueing in proper body mechanics and lifting techniques is included.

Employers complete a “Job Tasks Physical Demands Checklist” to allow the center to develop a screening protocol. This form may be obtained from the Worker Assessment & Rehabilitation Center. Employees should bring any documented work restrictions from a physician. Minors need parental consent form signed.

The following services are provided at the Worker Assessment & Rehabilitation Center in Menomonee Falls.
