Sitting on the sidelines with an injury is as frustrating as it gets for athletes. Community Memorial Hospital's Sports Medicine program can help athletes of all levels avoid injury, or if one occurs, rehabilitate them quickly and safely.
At the clinic, a certified athletic trainer or licensed physical therapist assesses sports-related injuries and may recommend treatment. Treatment options include a home exercise program, physical therapy under the supervision of our staff, or referral to a doctor for further diagnosis. If emergency treatment is required, the athlete is referred to Community Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department.
The education and experience of our doctors, certified athletic trainers and sports physical therapists provide a strong base for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of further problems and injuries. Our staff are experts at designing conditioning and strength training programs, and advocate the use of protective equipment. Our progressive team approach enhances your safe return to sports.
For injured athletes, various manual techniques are used to promote healing, proper motion and strength. Further sport-related rehabilitation includes instruction on proper warm-up, stretching and strengthening exercises, sport-specific drills, and use of high-tech equipment.
