The Confident Woman Boutique in the Women's Health Center at Community Memorial Hospital offers a fine selection of items to wear after breast surgery. Women have many choices in breast forms, intimate apparel and headwear. Options, along with the knowledge and experience of a compassionate fitter, can make all the difference in looking and feeling great.
Private consultations are scheduled with a fitter who recommends breast forms and bras to enhance appearance, comfort and self-image. A selection of comfortable, attractive styles are available. Women who have had breast surgery years ago also enjoy coming to the Boutique. Weight loss or gain and the deterioration of breast forms over time may affect a woman's appearance. Our fitting service is free and the garments and breast forms are covered by Medicare and most health insurance providers.
The Confident Woman Boutique offers a free wig and accessory loan service for women who are experiencing hair loss during chemotherapy treatment. A variety of colors and styles of wigs, scarves, hats and wraps are available and instructions are included with these items.
Community Memorial Hospital offers a free beauty workshop for women undergoing chemotherapy. Look Good, Feel Better helps women manage hair loss, changes in complexion and fingernails through the use of make-up, wigs, turbans, scarves and accessories. Women participating in this class receive complimentary cosmetics and skin care products for use during the class and to take home. The class is offered on a regular basis throughout the year.
The Breast Cancer Support Group meetings offer informal socialization and time for sharing thoughts and ideas with other group members and guests in a relaxed, casual setting. Meetings include education programs with guest speakers and refreshments. The Breast Cancer Support Group meets the fourth Monday of each month, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The meetings are free.
