Breast Care Center

The Breast Care Center is a free resource with certified breast health specialists who provide support, counseling and information regarding breast health, disease prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment options. Using the latest mammography screening technology, we are one of the few breast centers that uses Soft Touch® – special pads that cushion your breasts during the procedure. This makes the procedure more comfortable, even if you have sensitive breasts.

For a free consultation with our breast care nurse, call 262.257.5015.

Because Community Memorial Hospital is dedicated to preventing health problems before they start, the Community Breast Care Center offers diagnostic and screening mammography performed by registered mammography technologists. We also offer community education programs and serve as a resource center for healthcare information.

For women who have undergone breast surgery, The Confident Woman Boutique in the Women’s Health Center offers a fine selection of items to wear after your surgery.

Community Breast Care Center is staffed by board-certified doctors from diagnostic radiology, general surgery, hematology/oncology and radiation oncology, registered mammography technologists and a breast care coordinator. For referral to a specialist who is affiliated with Community Breast Care Center, call Careconnection, 262.251.1001 or 1.800.246.8332.

Early Detection Saves Lives

One in every eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. All women are at risk for developing the disease. Over 80 percent of women who develop breast cancer do not have significant risk factors other than being a woman and growing older.

The key to a complete recovery from breast cancer is early detection – something you can control!

For early detection of breast cancer, the American Cancer Society recommends women begin monthly self-exams by age 20. Women between the ages of 20 and 39 should ask their doctor for a clinical breast exam every three years. Women age 40 and over should ask their doctors for a clinical breast exam annually.

Clinical breast exams should be done close to the time of the mammogram. Have regular mammograms annually, starting at age 40.

If you have a history of breast cancer in your family, discuss mammography screening guidelines and scheduling with your doctor.
